Indiana State scored a pair of top-level prospects when it received commitments from West Vigo HS teammates Jordan Pearson and Jeremy Lucas. Pearson did it all for West Vigo during a junior campaign in which he earned IHSBCA first-team 3A all-state honors, and Lucas is one of the best defensive catchers in the state.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound Pearson batted .483 with an .899 slugging percentage as a junior. The infielder tallied 41 runs, 43 hits, 42 RBI, 10 home runs and used his 6.7 speed to steal 22 bases at the plate. On the mound Pearson went 8-3 with a 1.68 ERA and struck out 72 in 71 innings.

 The 6-2, 190-pound Lucas is a stellar defensive catcher who batted .321 with 11 doubles, 4 homers and 27 RBI as a junior.

Pearson and Lucas mark the third 2009 Division I commitment from West Vigo. Shortstop Cameron Fagg earlier committed to Wright State.
