Nolan Earley, 2009 standout from Anderson High School, committed to South Alabama. As one of only three juniors named to the 2008 Class 4A All-State first team, Earley’s hard work is clearly producing results.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete made a strong impression as a freshman on varsity and has been producing ever since. The left-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher established himself as one of the top hitters in the state after hitting .488 with 47 RBI, 40 runs scored, 13 doubles, 4 home runs, and 11 stolen bases for the Indians as a junior.
Also a standout football player, Earley batted .361 with 17 RBI and 42 runs as a freshman, then made marked improvements as a sophomore, raising his average to .429 to earn first-team North Central Conference.
This is the second straight year South Alabama has landed a top-level player from Indiana. Last year it signed left-handed slugger Brad Hook. See Earley's video in the Player Video Center.
