Fort Wayne Carroll’s OF Bryce Feller was impressive with the bat. Feller earned the event’s top 2009 prospect honors after the 6-foot-2, 185-pound outfielder displayed quick hands with power potential. The senior also possesses a very strong arm that has been clocked as high as 88 mph in past events. In the Class of 2010, Justin Glass from Fort Wayne Carroll HS and David Patton (pictured left) from East Noble HS earned the top junior prospects. Glass, who’s the No. 14 overall 2010 prospect by the Prep Baseball Report, earned the event’s overall top prospect possessing good bat speed, compact swing, and power to all fields. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Patton showed an inside-out swing with gap power that plays well with his speed. Patton should have another impressive spring and summer. Kristian Gayday SS from Elmhurst HS, strong-bodied athlete, showed good power and a quick bat. Southside’s Ricky Ritter, OF/RHP, possesses a balanced swing, good pop, and strong athlete. Austin Neadstine, left-handed hitting MIF from Adams Central HS, showed a quick strong swing with power potential. And keep an eye on the development of Concordia Lutheran OF/3B Augie Kruse and Leo 1B/3B Cortlin Simpson. Top-ranked 2011 players at the event include Snider 1B/OF Grant Yoder (pictured right) and Penn 3B/2B Kyle Schneider. Yoder showed plus power potential from the left side while Schneider possesses a balanced swing with a nice load and extension. Other sophomores to keep an eye on Carroll 3B/OF Zach Vanlandingham, Southern Wells OF/SS Kevin Feemster, Northern Wells OF/1B Landon Curry, New Castle MIF Damon Mann, and New Haven MIF Lucas Salerno. Northern Wells C/2B Kyler Mills (pictured left) was the top ranked freshman at camp. The 5-foot-9, 150-pound Mills is a switch-hitter with an impressive swing from both sides of the plate. And track the development of Homestead C/3B Mitch Trieglaff, Bishop Dwenger 3B Joseph Morelli, Homestead OF Brandon Soat, New Haven SS Spencer Place, Homestead OF Josh Caccamo, New Haven OF Aaron Graham, and Carroll C/3B Elliott Ford. |
