 Joe Forney, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound standout infielder and right-handed pitcher from Bloomington South HS, has recently committed to Duke University. Forney batted .472 with 5 home runs, 27 runs, 42 hits, 11 doubles and 37 RBIs this spring. On the mound, he helped carry the South squad to semi-state with his 5-1 record, 6 saves, and 1.12 ERA in 37 plus innings. Forney also tallied 51 strike outs. Forney joins LHP Dillon Peters (Cathedral HS) as Class of 2011 prospects that are verbally committed. |
