Penn Prepared to Build on Final Four Bid

Coming off an appearance in the final four last season, the Kingsmen are determined to build on last year’s success. Though they lost a number of players (7 graduated seniors are currently playing college ball), coach Greg Dikos believes his team will be able to pick up right where they left off.

Not only do the Kingsmen have a number of key seniors returning, but they also have a stacked junior class ready to step into the team’s open positions. Junior LHP-1B Garrick Dikos, a Division I prospect, will man the rotation alongside fellow junior LHP-OF Ricky Berg, also a DI prospect. Senior RHP Nick Brady, who went 4-0 last season with a 1.85 ERA, is the team’s top returning pitcher.

The junior class also boasts tremendous talent coming from C Jason Keough, 2B Nick Hostetler, RHP-INF Ethan Leiter, and OF Nick Strzelecki.

Penn’s offense will be spearheaded by speedy senior INF Ryan Kaczmarski (.351 BA), a four-year varsity starter, and senior SS Coley Moore (.434 BA). Joining Kaczmarski at the top of the order will be senior OF Steve Depositar (.345 BA, 17 SB). Garrick Dikos will bat cleanup with junior OF Ricky Berg likely to protect him in the five-hole.

Look for junior OF Mike Carroll and sophomore RHP-SS Casey Bernaert—both of whom have shown great potential—to contribute as well.
